Privacy policy
Who this covers
WonderQuest Kids is a children's educational app used by families. Accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian; children use a profile inside that account.
This policy is a working draft prepared for review. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and does not by itself establish legal compliance with any specific law.
Information we collect
Parent account: email address, authentication details handled by our platform provider, and subscription status supplied by the payment provider.
Child profile: a nickname, an emoji avatar, a chosen learning level, a chosen Adventure Buddy, and an optional weekly goal. We never ask for a child's full name, birth date, photo, school, address or location.
Learning activity: which activities were completed, score, stars awarded, skill mastery, rewards earned, and artwork or stories a child chooses to save.
Support messages you send us through the contact form.
How we use it
To run the learning experience: showing the right activities, saving progress, awarding rewards and recommending what to try next.
To show a parent their own family's progress, and to manage a subscription the parent purchased.
We do not sell personal information, do not use it for behavioural advertising, and do not build advertising profiles of children.
Children's privacy
The child experience contains no advertising, no third-party tracking pixels, no chat or messaging, no public profiles, no external links and no payment prompts.
We design around data minimisation: a nickname and an avatar are enough to play. Audio instructions use your device's built-in speech, so no voice recordings are sent to us. We do not request camera or microphone access.
A parent can delete a child profile, and the records attached to it, at any time from the parent area.
Service providers
We use a hosting and authentication platform provider to run the app and store data, and a payment provider to process subscriptions. Those providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Card details are entered on the payment provider's checkout and are never received or stored by WonderQuest.
Retention
Learning records and saved artwork are kept while the family account is active. When a parent deletes a child profile or all family data, the associated records are removed from the live database. Backup copies may persist briefly in provider backups before expiring.
Contact messages are kept until resolved, then archived for a limited period.
Your choices
Parents can view all data held for their family in the parent area, change learning levels and goals, download a progress summary, and delete a profile or all family data.
To close the login itself, use your account deletion option in the platform account settings.
Security
Data is access-controlled so one family cannot read another family's records. Parent-only screens are additionally protected by an adult PIN. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected families if a breach affects their data.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and note the date. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
